Disclaimer:
- Currency will be listed in Canadian (CAD) funds. Vendors and buyers from out of country will be expected to have
Canadian currency on hand. Vendors will not be expected to make change for any funds in USD.
- The Windsor Aquarium Society (heretofore WAS) is responsible only for providing the venue to hold the event,
and for the promotion of the swap event.
- The WAS will not be held responsible for any of the vendors' property that has been damaged, lost, or stolen.
- The WAS reserves the right to refuse table space, or to close tables down, in the event of any altercations or if a
vendor is found to be in violation of the following rules.
The event rules are as follows:
1) Vendor table space will be rented out at $30.00 per 6-foot table, or at the reduced cost of $20.00 for anyone
who can provide proof of active membership to any regional Aquarium Club or Society. This cost includes the
vendor’s entry fee to the event.
2) The entry fee to the swap meet event is $3.00 per person, or $5.00 for a family of two or more. Kids 16 years
old or younger will be allowed free entry.
3) There will be a maximum of two vendors per table.
4) Anyone may register to rent table space; it is not a prerequisite to be a member of the Windsor Aquarium
Society. All vendors must submit a registration form to the WAS. Table space will not be permitted to anyone
who has not filled out a registration form. Registration forms will be accepted during the setup of the event,
permitting that there are still tables available. If the tables have been sold out, the WAS reserves the right to turn
away any late-coming registrants.
5) There will be a limited number of electrical outlets available, on first-come-first-served basis. Vendors will be
permitted to set up display tanks using these outlets, however the vendor should provide an appropriate stand to
contain the weight of any aquarium used.
6) Vendors using outlets must provide their own extension cables and power bars.
7) Vendors must provide their own change, as many interactions will be made using cash. Change will not be
provided by the WAS.
8) This will be an aquarium-related swap meet only. Please bring only merchandise and livestock relating to the
fish-keeping hobby.
9) All equipment must be in working order, or else must be labeled as "PARTS ONLY". All aquariums should be
water-tested ahead of time and clearly marked whether or not they hold water. Buyers should also water-test
any purchased aquariums prior to setting them up. The WAS will not be held responsible for any aquariums
declared water-tight, later deemed to be defective.
10) All livestock must be labeled with the name, quantity and price. All equipment must be labeled with a price.
Haggling and bartering is permitted, however all items must be clearly marked with a starting point.
11) No Ontario-native fish or plants are permitted to be sold at the swap meet.
12) The WAS reserves the right to add, adjust, or alter the rules up to two weeks prior to the event.
