i am new to saltwater aquariums and have recently added some rock and now there is what looks like white dots on the glass rocks and even on the snails...please help

What kind of rock did you add? If it was live rock the something may have sneezed as in a bloom in a new environment. These may be coral polyps that are now settling in to an environment that has no competition, but I think to be conclusive we need more information.

How long has the tank been running. It looks like it may have been previously set up based on the rock and gravel.
