Just wondering if anyone has any insight on how to darken the water of my aquarium. I'm attempting to get the natural look and have placed driftwood in my tank but no luck. Any other options?

I use Oak or Almond leaves , I add 1 leaf and at first it will float and then over a few days will sink to the bottom. It releases tannins into the water that will tint your water to a "tea " colour..The more leaves the darker the tint.

Sounds exactly like what I'm looking for, any idea where I can buy them?

Thanks les, I'll be making an order to Angelfins. Although my wife is insisting she is just going to grab some leaves of the oak tree outside lol

They have to be dried out leaves and ones without any pesticides on them.

I use cocohusk for my tadpoles! just the one from petsmart for frog bedding! They are safe for fish as well as tads, and frogs, however it makes the water very brown! need to dilute it for aquariums! I also have some Almond leaves if you need it right of way, you can just give it back when your order gets here!

I never knew oak leaves could be used but I've used dried almond leaves in the past. Check www.kensfish.com as he used to sell them as well.
