Just thought I'd throw something up to get some discussion about anemones. Anyone have any favourites? What do clowns like the best?

I have had no luck with clowns hosting in my BTA. My green carpet is flat out dangerous so nothing goes anywhere near it. I have heard that wild caught clowns are far more likely to host. I don't know if there is a clear favorite type for them. Please note that several nems commonly sold in the hobby have no business being in an aquarium as they can get far too large or have poor survival rates.

My favorite is my mini carpet! Even thought it is a mini mine is about 7" across! So it is on the larger side! I would love to have more of them but they seem to all go to the same spot in my tank so I have a nem forest.... Lost a few that way so I'll just stick to the one!

Right now I have a blue with neon green rim Mini Maxi, love the coral. I wasa thinking about getting a Rose Tip bubble but im worried its going to move all over the tank and kill other coral.
On Clowns Hosting, I have two clowns born in capitivity and they host in my Hammer. I love watching them poke in and out lol. Im my opinion all clowns will host if they attempt to breed.

I had a red bubble tip, and it would not stop splitting! I had to get them all out ( 15 out of 1) and trade it in since they were just stinging all my other corals! My clowns could not care less about the anemone and just hang out in my torch coral!

Yup that the down side of them, they can split to much and just float around the tank. I heard if ones gets eaten up by a power head it can lead to a system crash due to the toxins it can let out.

I'm not sure about that, but would not be surprised!

Came home to a surprise today to find my anemone had split into two! I think it's a Haitian reef anemone.

Very cool. I wish my BTAs would STOP splitting. And I wish my flame bubble and my maxi-mini carpets would START. I suppose I might have better luck if I actually ever fed them.....

My clowns are already nosing into the 1/2 inch bta I got from Seggsy. But we'll see how it does. He's in hiding. I would love to get a rose bta if anyone has a good price on one.
Bubble tips have worked best for my past clowns but torch and hammer seem to work fine too. I've also heard wild caught host better but I don't think it matters personally.
