I've done lot of googling on this topic and never found an answer.
I try to give my fish high quality food and a varied diet. To that end, and like many others hobbiests, I like the NLS range. However something that has puzzled me is that all the commonly usef NLS food sinks to the bottom rather quickly. So what do people feed their mid water feeders? I've noticed my angels and discus watch as the food plummets past them. I know that NLS offer flakes and "semi" floating pellets but they don't seem popular. In fact, one online vendor actually sent me an email saying that NLS flakes were not good.
So, what do you recommend?

I was just feeding my angels and as the food swam by it I was wondering the very same thing! I feed frozen foods as well and that seem to interest them a bit more! However I do not know what would work well for them!!!

I have read many times that flake foods are not sufficient by themselves. Not sure why NLS are not good however. I use it as a treat and to try and get new arrivals eating sometimes. Dainichi is another brand which you can consider. But is sinks too. New Era makes some nice soft pellets but they sink fast and are elongated pellets making them a bit too big for many fish.
Frozen is great IMO but can pollute a tank. Try freeze dried plankton which has been well soaked. Some will float but if you shoot it in with a large syringe you will find some will stay suspended in the water column. Hopefully that is helpful in some way.
