I've loved fish since I was a little girl, but I have also been fascinated by many other kinds of animals. I currently have 2 dogs, a Border colliex named Snoopy and a chihuahuaxyorkie named Harriet. They are both rescue dogs that are special members of the family and have given us many years of love and loyalty. I worked for the New Brunswick SPCA for 8 yrs as their president and also took a lot of dogs home with me to be rehabilitated. My husband and I have rehabbed over 100 dogs and placed them into permanent homes ourselves. With my dogs I also competed in obedience trials, Snoopy having won many titles in her youth (she is now 13), as well as my previous dogs, Shogun (a doberman) Robin (Pitbull terrier), Penny (chihuahua) and Lucy (shih tzu) who are now all deceased but were outstanding trial dogs and companions. After I had my 3 daughters my dog rescues and training became impossible to continue so I decided last year to get back into aquariums. Then I found this forum! What used to be a lonely, solitary hobby for me has become a whole new world! Thanks.
Previously my husband and I also owned a 200 acre farm in New Brunswick where we farmed heritage breeds of animals (especially chickens) and berries. We also have a special love for music (mainly metal) and native plant gardening and conservation. I can frequently be found at Point Pelee birding with my girls and acting silly. Other interests include: watching stand-up comedy, travelling, cooking, reading, history and archaeology.
