It's just cycling right now, live sand and some live rock. Its a JBJ 24 Nano cube with a 150watt HQI. I'll post some pics when I get a chance

Oh I know the rules lol, here it is. The tank is still cycling so its just live rock and live sand. Ammonia is still stubbornly high even after a few days and I'm still playing around with the rocks. Starting to see diatoms as well.

I think you need to play around with the rocks. I'm not sure i really like that setup. The pieces you picked have a lot of character. I think that you should use that to your advantage

If you still playing with the rocks, the ammonia not going to drop fast! Every time you put your hand in there, you disrupt the cycle! It is a bit more touchy than freshwater setups! I love nano tanks thought! My wife wants me to downsize from the 46 gal to a 20! Since I enjoyed more the smaller tank! Maybe she is right, hard to say! The diatoms will stay because of lack of circulation! I think you are in need of a small circulating pump that creates current across the back of the LR! Also once you find the final arrangement for the rock, I suggest gluing them together! I had fish tunnel under them and the whole formation falling apart, even thought I put the base of the structure on bare bottom not on sand!
