Just curious what were the most interesting hitch hikers you found in your tank?
I had a few crabs, and worms, but by far the most interesting was a baby plate coral, which I still have! It was the size of a shirt button when I noticed on the rock. Still had the stem that held it in place. I did not know what it was, but decided to keep an eye on it. One day it turned purple, and fell off the stem, the next I know it is on the sand by the front of the glass, and it has stayed there ever since. It moves across the front but never wonders in the shade or under any rocks!

Wow that is a good sized one! Good thing you found it! Those things can be a menace at maintenance time! They pack a good "punch"!

Definitely big enough to kill your fish. At least you didn't have any fish for it to go after yet. Arrow crabs like those but they can get big and nasty.

I had a gorilla crab in my live rock. Had to set up a DIY trap to catch it

IM not fan of Bristle worms , but they do provide for one Hell of a clean up crew. Everyone has them too so they are not a big deal Presonally I think you need them to clean out your rock. I think I might beat you all on this one....... I have a eunice worm (google it) Seen it last week then disappeared. they are extremely common too.....

eunice worm, wow eh that's a nasty one.
I researched the bristle worm a little before I took it out and I found that some will be great at cleaning your tank and won't harm fish. Then there is the fire red ones (which I found in my tank) that will kill your fish.

Salty you got a nasty critter there! Figures that it disappeared on you! Just like that, and you will not see it until it is huge and you got to tear down the tank to get to it!

Yea luckily I saw it during my cycling process. I ended up making a trap with a water bottle and putting food inside. I got lucky because the next morning it was caught!

Yeah it might come to that or it will die out..... either way I keep my eye open for it.. Ive learned fast that with saltwater you will get tones of hitchhikers and crap I'm your tank and some how they just work themselves out. It would be smart to dip corals and everything but honestly it doesn't matter to much If your worried about bristle worms make a trap, that's what I'm doing

I got a sixline wrass and it took care of all my bristle worms! It was cool to watch it rip the big ones apart like no tomorrow!
