Has anyone ever had trouble with a rena filstar xp3 canister filter? I have it all set up I've primed it, the canister is full of water but the flow out of it is barely a trickle. I've cleaned everything and check for clogs. There wasn't any. I've checked the propeller and every thing looks fine to me. I'm new to aquariums and just started up my tank about a month ago. When It first ran it was gushing water now it's not. I've watched every YouTube video I could find and read everything I could find on how to set it up properly and prime it but still no success. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and if anyone had any advice they can give me... I stopped at corbrets and was told to bring it in and have Cory check it out but was hoping there was something I could try first...
Thanks a bunch!
Jonathan

On this model there is a quick release valve to enable the removal of the hoses from the top of the filter. Take a look at the diagram on this page: www.wag.com/fish/p/rena-filstar-xp3-canister-filter-up-to-175-gal-349577 it is #4 make sure it is fully engaged, otherwise it will not have the full flow! That is how I control the flow in my tank! hope this helps!

I have the xp2 and it sometimes takes a little for me to get it running again after a water change, but nothing too hard to deal with. I just make sure its primed and the tubes are full of water. Also sometimes air gets caught in the housing so I sake the entire filter gently and tip it from side to side till I see air bubble release.
