I have some nice pieces of driftwood i took out of one of my tanks as i have gone with all rock cichlid tanks. i'd be more than happy to donate to the tank. All of our kids went/graduated from Prince edward and our youngest is currently attending there, she is in grade 3. Let me know if youd like these for the students tank. i'd be more than happy to bring them.

Thanks everyone.
We've done several small-ish water changes since the cloudiness problem and the tank is now looking great. A tetra died while I was on a sick day Monday and it's the first thing the students told me about when I got back. They had named him/her Syd. They were pretty upset. But we talked about it and that's part of owning a tank, especially us newbies.
Jonathan, may I ask who your kids were? This is my 19th year at Prince Edward so it is likely that I taught them and you do look familiar, but after 19 years and all those kids, things get a bit foggy.

I remember them! The oldest ones must be done high school? Again, not sure, after so many years it's hard to keep all the kids and their ages straight. It starts to blur into one big year after a while. Ha ha.

Ms. Walker Glad the tank has cleared up . Have you been able to use the pleco feeder ? Just wondering if the kids have seen the pleco's eating fresh veggie's . Next week I plan on dropping off the driftwood that Jonathan has so kindly donated . Just need to attach some plants to them . Is the tank light working now ?

The tank lights are working, the water has cleared up. I will be more vigilant about bringing in veggies but when we have done it, we've not seen any action on it. The classroom is a pretty noisy place and I wonder how it affects the fish. There's complete quiet, then the student burst in and there's a bunch of chair noise, there are bells ringing, lots of movement. I think it takes a lot longer for the fish to settle than it does in your home environment.

I'm sure they get spooked to some degree . Don't forget if you add veggies to the tank in the morning to take them out and dispose of them the next day as they will decay and foul the water if left in to long. I will drop off the driftwood with some nice plants attached to it this week . That might make some of the fish feel more secure .

The plecos should be used to being spooked! I have a cat that is actively hunting them! Just sits on the floor in front of the tank and trying to catch plecos all day!

Went by the school today to drop some stuff off and realized that their break is not over yet. Please let us know how the tank is doing when you get back.
