Dakotah has been home sick all week. I have the snail in the tank, but in a basket, separated from the fish. I'll keep an eye on it until Dakotah can take it home. Thank you so much for being so kind to my class, and especially to Dakotah this year. You might just have a future member of your club here.

Sparking an interest in future hobbyists would be incredible . Dakotah has done a great job this year.

Dakotah , great question ..... Yes the snail can eat any uneaten food that's in the tank but you can't just count on that . Always try to make sure every living creature in your tank is fed and that's the reason for the tablets . Just make sure not to overfeed . So if you see food that's left over and not getting eaten cut back a bit on the feedings. And don't forget your water changes . Good quality water is so important as you know .

Dakotah, you are now a member of the forum. You can chat here anytime you want as long as you follow the guidelines. I think the folks here like to see young people who are interested in the hobby that they themselves love so much. If you mean the Edsby chat group, I'm pretty sure your grade 8 teachers will set up a chat for you folks. Or maybe we just switch it to an intermediate chat group next year.

Tomorrow morning the classroom tank comes down marking the end of another year in which the Windsor Aquarium Society has hopefully sparked a little interest in a few students at Prince Edward Public School . I know for sure Dakatah has done an outstanding job with the tank and also with keeping us informed on its progress . Also thanks to Ms Walker for allowing us this wonderful opportunity .

School tank has been taken down and all fish and plants removed .
Here's a few observations I made . The Platy's dropped at least three batches of babies . I know this because I removed three babies of different sizes , the smallest being a new born that is probably just over a week old . Didn't see these until the water level was very low and all the decorations were removed . Also the Anubius Nana plant has completely covered the driftwood and is actually sending out a flower . That is super cool .
So those two things alone tell me that the tank was very well taken care of . Two thumbs up to Dakatah , Ms Walker and the rest of the class.
Lets do this again next year .......

Ahhhhh. I realized while stuck in the meeting that I forgot to leave a card and Timmies gift card with the secretary to give to you. It was so you could buy treats for your next meeting. I will keep it until we see each other next school year.
Thank you soooo much for your continued interest in my students and our classroom tank and spreading the love of fishy fun to the next generation. As always, it has been a pleasure working with you all again this year.
Have a safe and happy summer.
