It is with great pleasure that Ms Walker is letting the Windsor Aquarium Society help out with her classroom tank . Hard to believe that this is the 5th year that we have been doing this . It's always a pleasure to help out this class as best we can and who know maybe just maybe a future Society member will come out of this .
This year we are going with a community tank setup . Today I dropped off driftwood ( donated last year by forum member Jonathan ) , also a piece of driftwood with a piece of Anubias Nana attached to it , 4 small angels and 4 assorted Platy's.
More fish and plants will be dropped off in the coming weeks .

Thank you, Windsor Aquarium Society, for once again bringing life to our tank and thus life to our classroom. The students were super excited today when the fish came. They gathered around the tank and clamoured to be the ones who would add the driftwood, plants, and fish. They have already named the fish and now this Fish Tank / Maker Space area of the classroom is once again a popular hot spot in the room. Here are some photos of today's excitement.

Don't forget to set some water aside for your weekly water changes . Do you still have that empty Culligan bottle ?

Yes, I have two and they are both already filled with water and waiting for a water change. I'm getting the hang of this after all these years!

Try to do weekly water changes if possible . I know it sometimes gets crazy in there . I you ever need help I can always come by during their lunch period to help out .

Most Fridays I have a "Fix N' Finish" period. I have lots of classroom jobs and that's when students can do their jobs. So we will make it a routine to do a water change on "Fix N' Finish Fridays".

So happy that the classroom tank is once again happening. nice to see young fishianados. We currently have a pair of these long finned tetras that we would be willing to donate. we are going to be changing our tanks up soon. 90 gallon community tank is going full planted and 180 bowfront cichlid tank is going saltwater. please let me know if you'd like to add these beauties to the community.

Jonathan , do you know what kind of tetra's they are ? I ask because there are small angels in the tank so I don't want to add any fin nippers .

Hi Les, I purchased them a couple months ago from Petsmart for my wifes community tank, guppies platties etc. haven't had any issues with them against anyone else in the tank including fry. All I know is they are long finned tetras...lol. got them for my wife because she said they were pretty. I'm sure they would be a nice addition to the kids tank. Thanks Jon

Those look like white skirts. Skirt tetras are a nippier species when not kept in a full school - I wouldn't personally trust them with angelfish unless it were a very large tank
