Hi and welcome to the forum. And what a great list of fish. Some really beautiful fish species in that list and I hope your successful in breeding them all. Thanks! Hoping to have some good spawns too. In love with Betta.macrostoma, they're an absolutely stunning species. Their appearance and personalities make them seem like aquatic dogs (bulldogs in this case ). This will be my second time around keeping B.macrostoma, 3-4 times for the other listed species. My original and first pair of macs were awesome, they readily bred, but my male never learned to hold for the entire incubation period. Got an egg tumbler on hand this time around, in case my new males end up not holding after a few attempts. B.channoides are a really neat and fun species to keep as well (remind me of miniature macrostoma ), successfully bred these guys a couple of times. I'll keep everyone updated.

Welcome to our forum . You have a very nice list of wild Betta's coming in . We have a couple of members including myself who keep these . I just have a few odds and ends around but really love their personality , they are literally like pets and some eat right out of my hand . Good luck with your breeding attempts . Btw , are you from the Windsor area ?

I'm actually from Mississauga.

Sorry when I said myself and a couple of other members keep these I meant "wild Betta's " not necessarily Betta Macrostoma . I'm not ready for those yet still trying to get my feet wet with the others .
I have 1 betta edithae
1 betta enisae , had a pair but one jumped out.
and a pair of betta patoti

Kept a pair of B.patoti "red" a few years ago, one day my female wasn't having it, and ended up harassing my male(chewed his face and tail up). I guess the stress and injuries did him in. They were a stunning fish while I had them, reminded me of a larger version of B.rubra.

Aaaaaah if my income were only a bit more disposable, I would get just so many bettas from Thailand. I am curious on just how long the transhipping process takes?
Welcome to the forum, and good luck with your coming stock!

Welcome to the forum! You have a very nice selection of bettas! I myself never tried Wild bettas, maybe it is time for something a bit different. I looked up the species you have and they are just stunning!

Welcome to the forum, and good luck with your coming stock! Thanks! I believe the transport time from Thailand and Malaysia to Canada is roughly 1-2 days.

Niiiiice! I can see you're passionate about Bettas! Sure am! My passion for bettas started around 5-6 years ago, when I first got some designer halfmoon plakats from Thailand. Finally seeing the fish in person and the quality compared to those you find sitting in cups at select LFS/LPS, really shook me. It was around this time when I started I posting my first collect of HMPKs on a few other forums, that love for bettas developed even further. Learning more about the fish, lead me to betta advocacy in regards to how to raise and care for these fish properly. My appreciation for such a under rated and misunderstood species, was at a all time high. The year after, I got introduced to wild bubblenesters and my first moithbrooders: Betta.Albimarginata and Betta.channoides. From that moment on, I was hooked. Emailed breeders and authorities of wild bettas overseas to learn as much as I could about wild betta species. This lead me to learn about the unimaculata complex: Gladiator, Macrostoma, Pallifina, Patoti, Ocellata, and Unimaculata. My love and passion for bettas is still growing, especially the more I learn about them. Really hope I can breed my macrostoma successfully this time around. I'm also starting to look into Betta.apiapi, very stunning little wild, suggest looking them up if you haven't already
