I feel ready I whole heartedly agree with les. Take it slow and learn as much as possible. Nothing worse than rushing in and losing something you put time and effort into.

I feel ready Tank looks fantastic. Heater will be there before you know it . Maybe get a chart ready so you can track your temperature readings . Good Job so far Mr. Junior Aquarist .

Bubbles are common in new freshly filled setups. You can usually swish them away by hand or just wait 'til they float off on their own.
As far as where to get your betta, Aqua Animania has had the best choices of colours and tail types that I've seen in the city. They do run a little more expensive than your department store bettas, but you can buy them younger and usually have them for longer. My niece's double-tail Aqua Animania betta has lived for over a year now, when her previous crowntail betta only stuck around for about half a year.
