Okay, thanks Stellar. The tank will be up against a wall with the window on the right. They are double windows and there is a heavy curtain if needed. I think it will be alright, but the table is on wheels, so if we need to move the tank over a bit in the winter it won't be too tough to do. Very excited.

Tank looks great. Going to make a drop off tomorrow morning. Can you bring the styro box and leave it by the office. More plants and a few fish .

Got your message too late but now both styro boxes are way up high on the big filing cabinet at the office for next time. Kids LOVED their first shipment. They set up the plants then let the fish bag float and then released it. Then they set to work on decorations for the walls. They also want to make a fish mobile of "shrinky dink" fish made from recycled clam shell (and other plastic) packaging. Two girls made recycled jellyfish out of water bottle bottoms and strips of clear plastic bags. Check out the 3D fish made from a WonderBread bag. We printed off some info about the fish and put it in the tank binder, along with your note, and my two "Aqua Techs" read all about them. Kids from other classes came in for science and noticed the fish right away. Daniel, now in grade 8, went right over there when he came in to check things out. I'm looking for 2 small old wooden kitchen or kid chairs for the kids to paint all fish-funky and keep them there at the table. It is so much easier to enjoy the tank on chairs than it was last year where you had to go get a chair or hunch over to view. There's even still room in front to spread your books out and work. I am sure this will become a favourite spot in the classroom. Here is today's photo:

Hmmm. I think I'm going to have to measure that table, get rid of the potted plant, and buy a longer tank next year! Oh no! Have I been bitten by the bug? This is how it starts, isn't it?

Glad the students enjoyed their first "fish delivery" . Today I dropped off 3 plants donated by Gabe (gabor129), 3 moonlight gourami's and a plastic floating jelly fish donated by Sam's Pampered Pets in Belle River.

Today some students decorated the table in front of the tank. Might have some future interior designers here! And, we experimented with our first DIY "shrinky dink" fish for the fish mobile they want to make.

If we study out loud will the fish learn about the Particle Theory in science class? I heard fish do well in "schools", right?

That would be Interior Decorator I went to school for interior design. . Not saying you won't have any interior designers in your class... but there's a HUGE difference. (Especially pay scale) LOL. (sorry, had to....)

Got the fish. The kids were very excited. Some, who did not know that we got a new batch of fish yesterday, thought that the gourami's had babies today! That was pretty funny. Those are some big babies. I had grade 8's at the time the fish bag was ready to be released, so Daniel (the uber fish kid) got to release them into the tank. That was great. So far, things are going very well and I love the new spot where kids can sit and read or do their work.
