So glad Daniel was there to release the fish. Pretty funny that some thought the Gourami's gave birth to the tetra's.

Glad that things are going well with the tank! Those would be pretty large eggs to hatch that size babies out of!!!!

So funny! It happened again today with one of our students who was away for two days at leadership camp. He came in the door and said, "Whoa! The fish had babies already?!"

Wait until they see what we have planned for the tank after the Christmas break. You will have a hard time keeping them away from it.

Piranhas would work for me. Ever-present threat of being thrown in the tank would help with classroom management. =) We do not have the over the back filter running. We cannot find the inner basket that holds the filtering agents in it. Not done looking but it was not in the laundry basket where I kept everything. Kept forgetting to tell you.

No, no, no. Our filter is perfectly fine. I just can't find the little folding basket thingie that fits inside and holds the charcoal etc. You don't even really NEED that right? It just makes pulling all that suff out easier. Don't worry 'bout that.

Will be making a fish delivery tomorrow. There are 6 zebra danio's and I think 5 neon tetra's. These are very special fish as they were donated by a local high school science class that had to get rid of all their tanks. Gabe's (gabor129) son brought them home so I could pick them up for you. And as for the filter , I have a new Aqueon 30 power filter that I will drop off next week. I will trade it to you for your older filter. Please except this small donation. You are doing wonderful things in your classroom and I am glad to help in a small way......

Wow. That's a lot of fish. The students will be spazoid. Thanks for saving those fish for us. Too bad they had to get rid of all their tanks. Wonder why. I will not argue with you about the filter. I know you will just drop it off and run away anyway. I will just say thank you.

Daniel just saw me walking the empty fish styro box back to the office and said "Did you get new fish?" Yep! So he ran down the hallway and into my room to check things out. He's in grade 8 now and so only in my room twice a week.......which just isn't enough for his fishy interest. So cute. The fish were a big hit today. Lots of kids around the tank for the "moment of freedom" when they released them.
